Help Us Decide : The Hangout V3 Layout
CHOOSE YOUR FAVORITE OPTION WITH OUR COMMUNITY POLL
We LOVE options. Creating different versions of our homes lets you explore the different ways a design can take shape, but most importantly allows you to find a home plan that fits your needs and wants. With that, we’re cooking up a Version THREE of The Hangout! We’re starting with ONLY the ground floor for this poll.
But first - we need your help deciding on the layout! Do you wish for a bigger primary bedroom? Do you dream of a soaking tub in your bathroom? Maybe you’re hoping for a little extra laundry and mudroom space…
Below we have FOUR different sketch options for the up and coming Hangout V3. Take a look, decide your favorite, and submit your vote below.
What goals are we aiming for with The Hangout V3?
First, we’re revising the double entry to a single entry. This will allow us a little more flexibility and a little more space for some other programming. In the single entry, you’ll still have the fun vaulted space and “bridge” above.
Second, we’re aiming to maximize the ground floor bedroom size(s). We’ve heard that you’re interested in a little more wiggle room, so let’s make that happen! Bonus: We’ve heard so many requests for a tub in the primary ground floor bathroom that we’re including one in options 2, 3, 4.
Finally, with the extra space we gain from the 2nd entry, we’ll explore different layout options to include a mudroom, larger laundry, and additional storage spaces.
Now let’s see the layout options!
Option 1
We’ve revised the layout to a single entry on the “south” side of the home. When you walk in, you’re faced with an art wall and bridge above. Two queen-sized bedrooms are set off to the right. To the left, you have a functional laundry, utility, and bathroom behind a pocket door. Note: The highlighted area (in green) marks where the revisions are in comparison to The Hangout V1 & V2.
PROS: Bigger bedrooms, more laundry space, super accessible utility closet, centralized plumbing, more counter space in the kitchen.
CONS: No kitchen pantry, bit of a hall from the bedrooms to the bathroom.
Option 2
We’ve revised the layout to a single entry on the “south” side of the home. When you walk in, you’re faced with bench, coat hooks, an art wall, and bridge above. A king-sized primary suite is set off to the right, complete with a soaking tub. To the left, you have a functional mudroom, laundry, utility, and bathroom behind a pocket door. Note: The highlighted area (in green) marks where the revisions are in comparison to The Hangout V1 & V2.
PROS: Bigger primary bedroom, soaking tub in the primary bath, super accessible utility closet, more counter space in the kitchen.
CONS: No kitchen pantry.
Option 3
We’ve revised the layout to a single entry on the “north” side of the home. When you walk in, you’re faced with an art wall and bridge above. A walk-through pantry is to your left, while a mudroom/laundry room is to your right. Down the hall, a king-sized bedroom is set off to the left, laid out for the bed to gaze out the large windows. A large bathroom is used for the bedroom and the ground floor access, complete with a soaking tub. Note: The highlighted area (in green) marks where the revisions are in comparison to The Hangout V1 & V2.
PROS: Bigger single bedroom, soaking tub in the bathroom, more laundry and mudroom space.
CONS: If the bedroom is used as the primary bedroom, some folks might not love the fact that they have to share their bathroom.
Option 4
We’ve revised the layout to a single entry on the “north” side of the home. When you walk in, you’re faced with an art wall and bridge above. To your right you find a walk-through mudroom & laundry space. Down the short hall to your right, you have access to a powder room and utility closet. At the end of the hall, a large king-sized primary suite is complete with a toilet room, lots of windows, and a soaking tub. Note: The highlighted area (in green) marks where the revisions are in comparison to The Hangout V1 & V2.
PROS: Bigger primary bedroom, soaking tub and toilet room in the primary bath, accessible utility closet, more mudroom and laundry space.
CONS: No kitchen pantry and no added counter space.
